The Made from 3-ply bedouin stretch tent fabric, the sun cover provides shade in style. Easy to set-up and take down, the cover comes with instructions and a stow bag. The sun cover also helps keep the Dhow Bed clean and slow down the weathering of the wood. The extremely durable fabric is waterproof, so technically it is also a rain cover. The cover is attached with 4 steel brackets (painted to match the frame) and tightened by 4 tie-downs that all fasten to existing mounts on the Dhow Bed frame.

You can put your drink on the grass or wedge it in the net or have your butler hold it. Or you can add a side-table to the frame and you’re sorted. The side tables are brushed stainless steel with a cup holder, a champagne/wine glass holder and space for the hors d’oeuvres, tapas, phone, book and glasses. You can attach one side table to each leg.

The Dhow Bed net is pretty comfy as is, but if you want to take it to the next level then you can add the mattress: a thin foam mattress clad in high quality, washable upholstery fabric with a zip for easy removal. The mattress is especially great in winter for a bit of extra warmth or if you want to make the Dhow Bed your new nap spot. We have selected two fabrics that complement the Dhow Daybed

The backrests are wood, which is nice and strong, but you’ll want a cushie or two for proper deluxe sailing. Our cushions are 60x35cm Kapok filled and clad in high quality, washable upholstery fabric with a zip for easy removal. We have selected two fabrics that complement the Dhow Daybed.
The net is made using an outdoor, round-braid rope. Our woven nets are comfotable and easy to tighten.
The nuts, bolts and side tables are all made from stainless steel.
The mattress and cushions covers are easy to remove and wash.
The frame components are all galvanised (internal & external rust proof zinc coating) before painting.
The backrest, rope toggles and bed rim are made from decking hardwood with a special five layer sealer coat.
The sun cover is made from waterproof stretch fabric designed for use on bedouin tents.
Selecting Your Bed
The footprint of the frame is 2.4x2.4m. The height is 2.2m.
The white colour option is intended mainly for events and catering suppliers. Black is well suited to Modern, Industrial, Bohemian, Country and Contemporary design styles. Ivory is well suited to the Scandinavian, Traditional, Minimal, Rustic, Coastal and Glam design styles. Although designers love mixing things up, and they both look great in any garden.
If you're putting the bed in a sunny spot then consider the Sun Cover. It does help keep the bed dry, but if its raining properly the bed will still get wet. The rope net dries quickly though.
Not essential, but really useful.
The mattress is thin and easy to pack away.
Maintenance
The frame is Galvanised steel - inside and out. A special 5 layer enamel paint coating is then applied in your desired colour - with a 15 year lifespan.
The bed net is marine grade UV stable rope (10 years).
The hardwood is sealed with the storngest deck varnish available. It will last 3-5 years before needing to be resealed. To reseal, remove the rope net, ligthly sand the flat surfaces, clean well and apply sealer with a foam roller. Alternatively the wood pieces can be removed and swapped with newly sealed ones from us.
The sun cover is waterproof stretch tent fabric, treated with anti-fungal agents (10 years).
The rest of the components, like the fasteners and side tables, are all stainless steel (15 years).
The Dhow Bed is waterproof so don’t worry about the sprinklers. To mow your lawn, simply raise the bed to its highest level and you will be able to run a push mower under it from each side.
Net Tightening
Our nets are woven, not tied. This is for two reasons. First, its more comfy because there arent knots. Second, tied nets can't be tightened. With a woven net you can tighten and loosen the lines for more or less hammock vibes.
If you are assembling the bed yourself, you will need to tighten the net. The process is much quicker with two people. One pulls the slack through on one side and feeds it to the person standing on the other end, moving down the line. At the end the rope is clamped by a wedge cleat (special knot-free boat fastener device) and the excess is fed into the bed frame.
The rope will stretch with the first few uses. The curve of the bed can make it more comfortable and hammockie, but if you want to tighten it it is easy
