The Dhow
A Dhow is a sailing boat with a long, thin hull and one or two masts, traditionally made of wood with canvas sails. Found mostly in the Red Sea and Indian Ocean along the East-African coast, the Dhow is an ancient and iconic piece of Arab and African culture. From Alexandria to Vilankulos, on rivers, lakes and coasts, Dhows are used for fishing, transport, leisure and even homes.
We love these boats for their simple elegance and peaceful nature, for the culture of craftsmanship and multigenrational legacy they hold. The goal is to bring this vibe to shore with our Dhow Beds.
